Some business stories go far beyond the companies themselves. They help explain the evolution of a region, an industry and a particular way of understanding work, innovation and entrepreneurship.
To mark its 45th anniversary, PROINSERMANT has presented Brígido Sepúlveda. Ingenuity in the Pursuit of Comfort, a book written by journalist Carmen Durán, CEO and founder of CDComunicación and Communications Director at PROINSERMANT. For the first time, the publication tells the life story of the company’s founder while also tracing the origins and evolution of a business that has spent more than four decades shaping technical engineering for high-end homes across the Costa del Sol.
The presentation took place at PROINSERMANT’s headquarters and brought together Brígido Sepúlveda himself and his wife, Felisa Molinos, whose contribution forms an essential part of this story, alongside Carlos Sepúlveda, CEO of PROINSERMANT; Roque Justicia, the company’s Managing Director; renowned architect Miguel Tobal; and the book’s author, Carmen Durán.
The event celebrated the legacy of a family business that, since 1981, has helped transform engineering for comfort in some of the most exclusive residential projects on the Costa del Sol, Sotogrande and other leading destinations across Spain.

ToggleMore than the biography of an entrepreneur
Far from being a conventional biography, the book tells the story of a boy born in rural Córdoba during post-war Spain who found in curiosity, ingenuity and an eagerness to learn the means to build his future and eventually establish a company that would redefine technical building services for luxury homes.
The publication also reflects the transformation of Marbella and the Costa del Sol from the late 1970s onwards, when the first luxury residential developments began to emerge and ultimately positioned the region among Europe’s leading residential destinations.
Alongside that transformation, the book explains how PROINSERMANT became the first company on the Costa del Sol to introduce advanced technology into residential engineering and comfort, offering something unprecedented at the time: the integration of all technical installations, maintenance services and engineering solutions for luxury villas under one specialist company.
As the story unfolds, Brígido Sepúlveda’s personal journey becomes inseparable from the evolution of PROINSERMANT itself — a company that has continued to embrace automation, digitalisation and advanced engineering while remaining true to the values on which it was founded.
A legacy that spans generations
For Carlos Sepúlveda, CEO of PROINSERMANT, the publication pays tribute to his father’s achievements while also explaining the origins of the company and its future direction.
“This book helps explain why PROINSERMANT has become the company it is today. Many of the decisions we continue to make are rooted in my father’s way of thinking and working. We’ve evolved enormously, particularly in recent years through new technologies and digitalisation, but we’ve remained faithful to the same philosophy: doing things properly, with commitment, professionalism and always putting the client first.”
Carlos Sepúlveda believes that publishing the book during the company’s 45th anniversary makes it both a tribute to the journey so far and a statement of intent for the future.
He also took the opportunity to acknowledge his mother, Felisa Molinos, both for her contribution to the book and for the essential role she has played throughout Brígido Sepúlveda’s personal and professional life.
The origins of a long-standing partnership
One of the guests was architect Miguel Tobal, who has worked alongside PROINSERMANT since its early years.
During the presentation, Tobal shared a quotation from a project dating back to 1995 and recalled a visit with Brígido Sepúlveda to a property in La Zagaleta, a moment that, in his words, became a turning point for both their companies.
He also highlighted the contribution made by the many plumbers, electricians, engineers, technicians and office staff who have helped shape PROINSERMANT over the past four decades.
Leadership through service
During the event, Roque Justicia, Managing Director of PROINSERMANT, reflected on Brígido Sepúlveda’s approach to leadership and the lasting influence he has had on everyone who has worked alongside him.”In my opinion, the success of a leader lies, among many other things, in the consistency between what they think, what they say and what they do. Brígido is undoubtedly a good man, and his leadership has always been built around one core conviction: a vocation to serve.”
Justice explained that, for Brígido Sepúlveda, leadership had always meant serving others — supporting colleagues, striving for excellence for clients and contributing positively to society.
A story that deserved to be told
Author Carmen Durán explained that the project emerged while developing PROINSERMANT’s communication strategy and discovering that behind the engineering, plant rooms, automation systems and invisible technical installations lay an extraordinary human story. “When I met Brígido, I realised I was in front of much more than a businessman. His life reflects how an entire generation transformed scarcity into opportunity, ingenuity into innovation and hard work into progress. Telling that story also became a way of paying tribute to all those people who changed their own destiny through determination and curiosity.”
The value of a brand lies in its service
Brígido Sepúlveda also addressed those attending to thank everyone who had accompanied him throughout his career and to recall one of the principles on which he built PROINSERMANT. “Throughout the years we have worked on iconic projects and for very demanding clients, but we always believed that responding quickly and providing excellent service was essential. The value of a brand lies in the service it delivers. That has always been my philosophy, and it is what we have always tried to put into practice at PROINSERMANT.”
One of the most emotional moments of the event came with the reading of Brígido’s dedication to his son Carlos, now CEO of the company.
A book with a charitable purpose
Brígido Sepúlveda. Ingenuity in the Pursuit of Comfort is now available on Amazon for £15 equivalent (€15). All proceeds from the book will be donated to AFA Marbella, the Association of Families of Alzheimer’s Patients in Marbella, supporting its work with people living with the disease and their families.
The publication coincides with a particularly significant moment for PROINSERMANT, which celebrates 45 years since its foundation in 2026. Today, with almost 200 professionals and a presence in some of the most exclusive residential developments across the Costa del Sol, Sotogrande and Madrid, the company continues to develop its own approach to engineering for comfort while remaining faithful to the values with which Brígido Sepúlveda began this family business almost half a century ago.
